Potential issue with PMDG 737-800 and FSiPanel using STAR approach

Not sure whether this is an issue with FSiPanel or PMDG - so let me share what I am experiencing - which has only been happening since the latest PMDG update to the 737-800 (3.0.63) and WU12.

I have tried this with several different STAR approaches, and the outcome is the same. The latest STAR approach was into EGPK - RW12. The STAR was BLAC 1P and the waypoint TRN.

FSiPanel sets the plane up as normal, and request that I hold the brakes for 3 seconds to take control. Prior to doing so, I set up the FMC as usual, including the cruise altitude. All appears to be normal and I take control. Within about 60 seconds - everything freezes - and I lose the sound of the engines. Cannot do anything to release it. I have checked active pause, tried shift P and the ESC button, none of which releases the 'frozen' position.

Then tried the exact same STAR approach with the Fenix A320 and FSiPanel - and that worked perfectly. Also flew the PMDG 737-800 in free flight and that also worked perfectly.

Had another go at the same STAR approach into EGPK with the PMDG 737-800, and this time the 'freezing' occurred whilst I was programming the FMC, and before I had taken control.

As mentioned earlier - this situation has only occurred since the latest PMDG update, and of course WU12 - the FSiPanel STAR approaches with the PMDG 737-800 were working perfectly beforehand.

Hope this gives you enough info to look at from a FSiPanel perspective in case it is something that you can resolve. Just for your info, I have also posted a similar thread on the PMDG forum.

I just tried the same arrival with latest PMDG and no issues at all, I was able to land.

I will install WU12 now and try again.

Just tried same approach with WU12 New Zealand installed.
No issues, no freeze.

Confirm you are talking about WU12 and not BETA SU 12?

I have no other reports for this issue.

Thanks for your response and for trying the STAR approach into EGPK.

I can confirm that I was talking about WU12 and not BETA SU 12.

Interestingly enough, I have now tried various other STAR approaches with both FSiPanel and the PMDG 737-800. One of these was the RNAV05 approach into NZQN and that worked perfectly - so I thought that whatever 'bug' I had had now resolved itself. Other STAR approaches also worked fine.

When I read your reply above, I once again tried the STAR approach into EGPK, and sure enough, everything froze before I had taken control of the plane.

So, guess I will let sleeping dogs lie.
