I programmed starting my PMDG 737 800 at KLAX SADDE8 STAR at SMO at 7000 feet by selecting it from the dropdowns.
When the flight loads and then I assume control there is a fire in the wheel well. My baseline configuration is to not have any failures selected. If I try to clear the failure, the FMC accepts that it is cleared, but if I go back into the FMC to check the same failure is selected as present again and I cannot clear it as it keeps coming back. I have never had this before.
I am concerned that my loading state is being corrupted somehow.
I have the standard edition which does not support failures.
Flight loads with failure
Re: Flight loads with failure
Hi,
on first approach or during multiple landings training?
The only reason I see for this problem is your brakes temperature leading to a fire.
Can you check on SYS page your brake temp?
Cheers,
J-P

Re: Flight loads with failure
I cannot recall if the setup I saved was after multiple landings, but in retrospect probably so, see below, but I saved the snapshot and it saved the failure it turns out, so when I reloaded the snapshot the failure was there.
When I started from scratch with fresh simulator load and programmed the exact same scenario, everything worked fine, no failures at activation of the flight. I saved the new scenario and will delete the one with the failure.
What I do notice now and this may be a new bug since recent PMDG update is that even with a fine landing, -483fpm, the tires blow and I cannot move the aircraft after landing. Brake temps are in the yellow, which should be OK. I have to replace all the tires and cool the brakes to move again.
I will post that at PMDG forum.
Thanks for your help.

Re: Flight loads with failure
This is maybe due to multiple landings in a row, the brakes are getting hot.
You can reset brake temp to make sure.
