Your controls and shared cockpit environment with Fenix Experiences to date

Post by Dark Angel »

My question is does anybody have experience of using Your Controls with FSIPanel

As two remotely situated FS2020 users we have succeeded in using Fenix FSIPanel with Your Controls

1. Set up and use FSIPanel
2. Explored investigated and use of FSIPanel with Approaches Long and Short finals Vectors and Stars
3. Pilot Custom Waypoints to Initial Position Fix for Approach
4. Use of Snapshot inserting FMS with FSIPanel duplicate MCDU to enter Flight Plan FP
5. Use of Simbrief creation of FP via FS2020 World Map for selection of Airport location runway or gate.
Then Load FP to FMS of Fenix via normal MCDU FMS procedures. FLight plan may be changed
Then go to FSIPanel Failures and select Failure required with Height Speed trigger etc
This all appears to work but on occasions the selected failure is not invoked according to failure trigger selected,
If this persists will raise ticket
Experiences to date have indicated that it is easier to load Simbrief FP directly to Fenix rather than use FSIPanel duplicate MCDU
Accepting that FSIPanel Snapshot set up may be replicated.
Much less time to load long FP such as Barcelona to Gatwick. Simbrief FP can be saved in Simbrief and reused for FP Update changes to Weather QNH etc.
Simbrief FPs can be shared for shared cockpit environments FP and MP. Just send via email which is automatically captured by Simbrief Your Controls user. Simbrief load of FP is also more realistic and easier to use than via FSIPanel.
6. Use of Beyond ATC. BATC. BATC requires the Simbrief database and FP. Works well in conjunction with FSIPanel
Failures ongoing testing with BATC
7. Navigraph Charts work well with FSIpanel and BATC as all are using same FP and database.
8. FS2 Crew. FS2 Crew works with BATC with a few duplications of commands required. Hopefully FS2Crew will continue collaboration with BATC
to use BATC as the selected ATC and avoid duplications. Example request pushback and startup.
FS2Crew is designed for Single pilot flying with the MP handled by FS2Crew.
When using FSIPanel for Failures and Your Controls. FS2 Crew is not required as Shared Cockpit FP and MP use SOPS for procedures and checklists.

The above environment is proving to be highly entertaining and challenging.
From early experience of using FSIpanel failures knowledge of the Airbus POH Pilot OPerating Handbook and Normal and Abnormal procedures handbook is highly recommended. On occasions the ECAM only provides rudimentary information omitting required memory items and more detail information and required actions learnt at flight school.
So congratulations to JP and FSIPanel which is an integral part of the piloting experience.
Any comments or other sim pilots experience welcome.
