Preparing for Pre Employment Simulator Check

Hi guys,

I need help with my upcoming simcheck.

Coming straight to the point, I want to know, is there any possible way, I can select random Engine Failure Either 1 or 2 for PMDG 738. By selecting ENG1 or ENG2, i'm somewhat already mentally prepared what's about to happen, i want to challenge myself by selecting random engine. 

Any help please!

You fly on MSFS 2020, Advanced Edition correct ?

I can try to release a special training scenario for the PMDG738.

Yes, I'm on MSFS 2020 with FsiPanel Advanced Edition. I have a simulator check in 1–2 weeks, so your help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Just to add, if possible, Engine Failure on Takeoff, like v1/vr/v2.

I have no time to make a customized scenario but I just pushed the Eurowings 7760 for PMDG 737-800, you should find it in the scenario list.

Starting on the runway, engines running, random engine malfunctions with ATC for ILS , go around and RNP approach OEI.

Check the lesson plan for all details.

Let me know if it works on your flightsim.

@jpgarraio Hi. Thank you so much for the scenario.

As I am new to FsiPanel, i think, I'm stuck at ATC clearance, where it asks me to take dep. clearance from Tower. I tried assigning PTT button on my controller, but when pressing it, nothing worked. Lastly, I went ahead with takeoff without clearance, but couldn't see any failure at takeoff regarding engine. I guess, I'm doing something wrong with the setup, though I am at correct origin airport with correct WX preset.

In SETUP/ scenarios 

Enable PTT.

Set a PTT Button and a say again button and make sure you select VOICE and Text as output. 

Make a sound check to make sure you hesr ATC.

Then:

Start MSFS with the 738 at EDDH runway 33

Open FSiPanel in-game module on your toolbar

Start FSiPanel

Click on training scenarios and select it.

Do you see your cockpit being prepared?

When all set, message to contact tower when ready, click on it to acknowledge.

Wait a few seconds, you should hear a ding dong cabin sound, you're now ready.

Make sure tower frequency is on COM 1 and call atc with your PTT "Ready for departure "

You should get your takeoff clearance

@jpgarraio OMG! It worked perfectly. Soon after rotation got Engine Fire, followed by ENG FAIL with no N1 rotation. It is perfect. 

It was challenging to control, because I'm unaware what is going to happen, unlike previously where I was mentally prepared which engine I slected to fail.

@jpgarraio No Capt. Not yet. I had just tried few attempts on scenario before I leave for work. Will complete the whole scenario in the evening and will update you on how it went.

@jpgarraio Hello Capt. 

What a ride it was! First try, it was hit and run, specailly with ATC, but I somehow understood how it'll work. On 2nd try, I managed to intercept on ILS 23 but then Glideslope went off or ILS was not functioning as it suppose to be, and I had to GA. After communicating with ATC, was told that ILS23 is unservicable and told me to hold at HAM VOR and then expect vectors for RNP33 approach. Everything was working fine, ATC told me, after HAM vor, direct to WP SOSAX, after few seconds, he told me to decend to 3000ft, I was at 4000ft as per MAP. When I reached SOSAX at 3000ft., I tried many different calls to give me further instruction, but that was the last call I got from ATC, from there, everything went haywire 😀 I got busy trying all different words to trigger ATC calls, but none work, nor I could able to complete my landing and decend on profile, due so much workload.  

But nevertheless, I enjoyed it thoroughly. I will be doing my 3rd attempt very soon. Hope this time, i could finish it. 

Any tips Capt.?

Hi,

Great, the last instruction you shall have received is : "EWG9X, turn right to SOSAX, Cleared RNP33"

Then when you establish on RNP 33 and leave 3000ft in descent, passing 2500ft ATC will give you next instruction which is to contact tower.

Finally I was able to finish the scenerio perfectly. Everything worked out perfectly this time, 4th attempt, ATC calls after SOSAX also worked. 

Thank you so much for creating this scenerio, I will be trying out more scenerio. Thank you once again.
