PMDG NGXu Default panel state missing

Post by jschaper »

Hi J.P.

I've been having a problem with the PMDG NGXu. I reinstalled it to make sure but the end result is the same: the NGXu does not have a default panel state. I've tried creating one myself, but when I load it, the engines will not start but an engine fail message is displayed. This means that I will have to go through the entire start procedure every time I want to train an approach. Is here something I'm missing or can you me help me with this?

By the way, thanks for your great product. I enjoy it a lot.

Best regards

Hi J.P.

I did some research and found that the NGXu indeed no longer comes with a Default panel state. Basically, as long as you have no panel state selected, it behaves as the original Default panel state. So I went in my options.ini for the NGXu and removed the selected panel state. Not perfect, but it behaves as desired now.

On another matter, I just flew the canuck5 STAR into CYVR twice, with different starting waypoints (LANNE and SEBOG) and in both occasions I saw the STAR being loaded, but as soon as the process was complete, only the waypoints for the ILS 08L remained in the FMS. I had to reselect the STAR in dep/arr page. Is this as designed?

Hi Jack,

This is a normal behavior, FSiPanel will only set an approach in the FMC, not the arrival route as pilots may decide to fly different routes or add holds, etc.

Cheers,
