Fenix A320 with latest update for MSFS 320`

I have a question that I thought I new how to fly this Aircraft, but when I use FSIPANEL, using a STAR, I programmed the STAR and did a Direct to, but could not get the Heading mode to go to managed. I experimented, and found out that on the MCDU, at the top of the Flight Plan, there was a T-P waypoint, followed by the Waypoints on the STAR.
I deleted the T-P and then I was able to get the heading to go to NAV MODE..

Any ideas why this happens, and should it happen, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

Just go DIR to the first waypoint in front of you, when you execute, the A320 will automatically go to NAV mode.

When I enter runway and STAR, it shows on MCDU, top line, the Airport code, followed by discontinuity, then the first transition point on the Star. I can't delete the discontinuity, for some reason. If I go direct to the transition Waypoint, on Star, it puts a T-P on top line, followed by waypoints on route, and I have to delete the T-P in order to get NAV mode.
